Sony music proudly presents, the Sony DRM Rootkit virus purposely infecting their customer’s computers for the sake of copy protection. How far will Sony go? Well let’s just say that Sony sacrifices your privacy, and the stability of your computer without a second thought. Sony’s DRM technology has been found to install a rootkit on customer computers. Sony has now been sued over the DRM rootkit exposure by an Italy agency charging that Sony’s DRM amounts to a virus, which is installed in a way that’s “surreptitious way and not transparent.” The Sony rootkit virus is a form of DRM (Digital Rights Management,) an evil technology that will impact music fans, gamers, and computer users in general by restricting personal computing freedom and privacy.

Expressive Opposition has the story about how music compact discs with Sony’s DRM technology have been found to install a rootkit on customer computers. This means that Sony puts hacker tools on your computer so you can’t copy the music you bought. It makes your computer run slower and it could be used to invade your privacy.
