Apple Trying To Close the Door on Open Standards
Appearing on LinuxChix News, Apple will be modifying OS X not only to run on the Intel architecture, but they are going further to make it incompatible with any Intel system except those produced by Apple. They are obviously trying to protect their hardware sales, but it is a backwards effort to build walls trying to hold back a rising tide. Apple has resorted to purposely developing complex obfuscated code, which leads to bugs and inefficiency, trying to make it more difficult for people to modify OS X to run on a PC. Now they will try to patent the bad software development as “tamper resistant.”
